Helen and Ian Morley have both worked on the supply side of nursery goods for many years, with a crossover into clothing and gifts. Some years ago, while exhibiting at INDX Kidswear, Helen fell in love with the brands she saw there, so when the opportunity to start their own business arose, it was always going to be childrenswear.

Seedlings Baby opened in March in a Garden Centre, and six months later moved into a new shop, which opened on 15 August. Seedlings Baby is all about colour and fun, offering clothing and accessories up to age four years, alongside gift lines such as plush, greeting cards and organic baby toiletries. Brands include Frugi, Kite, Ducky Zebra, Blade & Rose, Lilly + Sid, Little Green Radicals, Fred & Noah, Metallimonsters, Powell Craft, Grass & Air and more.

 

 

Discussions are now underway with neighbouring shops about Christmas late-night shopping, and the Morleys are keen to participate in Lichfield’s popular festivals. Following a whirlwind of activity, the focus for the business now is getting the word out on its new location and connecting with lots of new customers.
