The store front of The Tiny Baby Boutique

Rachael Kavanagh launched The Tiny Baby Boutique online in April 2023 before opening a bricks and mortar store at the end of November. Kavanagh had always dreamt of owning a clothing business, but had imagined it would be womenswear.

When her son Theo was born prematurely six years ago weighing just 600g, she struggled to find good quality clothing that wouldn’t irritate, scratch or harm his delicate skin. She knew then that this was her future – sourcing the very best baby clothing.

The Tiny Baby Boutique offers a bold and bright range, much of which is made from organic cotton, starting at just 1.5lb for premature babies up to two years. Brands include Toby Tiger, Piccalilly, Little Green Radicals, Slugs & Snails, Blade & Rose, Doctor Mother Other, Biau Biau and 2 Little Mice.

The Tiny Baby Boutique is still establishing its roots, but Kavanagh hopes to become part of more community events in time. She has already attended a local mental health well-being event to talk about the benefits of organic cotton, especially for babies, as well as new and expectant parents’ events.

Longer-term aspirations include having an own label clothing line, starting with a premature baby collection and eventually moving into 0-2 years and possibly beyond.
