Store front of Willow Baby Boutique

Having worked in the childrenswear industry for the past eight years and the bridal industry for 12 years before that, Margaret McCafferty felt the time was right to launch her own retail business. And so, in April 2022, she opened Willow Baby Boutique in the historic Royal Burgh of Lanark.

The boutique is designed with a traditional feel in mind and specialises in babywear for newborn up to four years. Providing a personalised service to customers who want to know they are getting the very best products is integral to the business, as McCafferty confirms. “I’ve always been passionate about customer service; I enjoy spending time with customers and ensuring they leave the store satisfied.”

Willow Baby Boutiques stocks an impressive selection of brands, which McCafferty is keen to continue building upon with new ranges. The current brand portfolio includes Patachou, Pom Petit Pom, GYMP, Rapife, Kissy Kissy, Dandelion, Sarah Louise, Sofija, Bam Bam, Jamiks, Grass & Air, Verity Jones London, Caroline Gardner, Pex, Nibbling, Dani and Pastels & Co.

McCafferty supports the local Business Improvement District (BID) movement in Lanark and joined several shops in promoting an event called ‘Jurassic Lanark’ over the summer, creating a dinosaur window display and selling a small selection of dinosaur merchandise in-store.

The next step for the business is a website to showcase the collections, which is due to launch soon.
