A rail of children's coats inside a children's shop

Back in 2018, a time when people were starting to become increasingly conscious of adopting a more environmentally friendly lifestyle, Charlotte Loving established Loving by Nature to provide an in-person service selling cloth nappies. This year, however, marked some big developments for the business, triggered by the discovery that the premises were changing hands and the shop would need to move.

Charlotte took this as an opportunity to invest in the business and take it to the next level, and in May, Loving By Nature relocated to new premises on a historic row of shops in the centre of town, where a local signwriter has brought the store’s logo to life on the front fascia.

Loving by Nature specialises in conscious brands for busy families, everything from cloth nappies and clothing to books, and often with a nod to nature, whether it’s a leaf print on a nappy or a book about wildflowers.

Complementing the retail business are regular workshops, including baby reflexology, nature poetry, embroidery and flower pressing, with natural skincare, floral arrangements and wreath making to come, offering parents and carers a creative outlet and time to wind down. Charlotte plans to provide more events for the local area, with longer-term goals including potentially introducing shoe fitting.
