Pitti Bimbo returned last month with a renewed focus on bringing together an international network of buyers, brands and creatives around a carefully curated selection of childrenswear. With around 600 buyers from key global markets in attendance, the show highlighted the diversity and innovation shaping the industry today, from sustainable fabrics and considered design to new approaches to buying and evolving age categories. This season, the emphasis on curated spaces grew, with established areas including Plaza Pirouette, Family Circle and New Edit, joined by The Cabina and Kiosk France by Delajoie. These distinctive spaces created an elevated experience, encouraging connections among brands, retailers and the press. This was further reinforced by the evening event, which brought the industry together in a relaxed setting to strengthen relationships beyond the exhibition floor. Here we highlight some of our favourite brands from the show.
Meet Marie
Founded by Mary Meisel in Colombia, Meet Marie (pictured above) designs fashion for girls and teens aged eight plus years, blending Colombian heritage with South of France influences. The brand is distributed across the US, the UK, the Middle East, Puerto Rico, Panama and Latin America. For s/s 27, Costa Bonita captures the cultural duality of a Colombian girl with a love of the South of France. The resort-inspired collection blends summer shades with cotton voile, linen and denim, and features artisanal embroidery, stripes, floral accents and coordinated sets. Across seven chapters, the collection offers a versatile summer wardrobe, from easy beach looks and soft dresses to statement denim. Each piece is designed to stand alone or as part of a cohesive collection story. We love the fresh resort feel, with blue-and-white stripes and effortless separates creating a modern coastal mood.
