The front of a school uniform shop inside Ealing Broadway shopping centre

During the school holidays, Ealing Broadway shopping centre provided relief to local families through a free Uniform Store, which included schoolwear donated by SchoolUniformShop.co.uk and the local community.

Commenting on the project, which was made possible thanks to SchoolUniformShop.co.uk donating over 1,000 brand-new items, is Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway. “The response we have seen to the Uniform Store’s return has been incredible. To be able to support those who need that extra helping hand in our community ahead of the new school year is something that we don’t take for granted.

“It was fantastic to have such a generous donation from SchoolUniformShop. co.uk to boost the range available to parents, as well as plenty of preloved items from local families. Not only does this save families money, but it also prevents unwanted clothing going to landfill.”

The initiative allowed families to collect essential school uniform items at no cost.

Located within the Ealing Broadway shopping centre itself, the pop-up shop offered a range of items including sportswear, blazers, blouses, trousers and skirts. Representatives from SchoolUniformShop.co.uk, William Price and Josie Harris, made the journey to Ealing to help out.

“It was nice to see that people had dignity and opportunity to pick what they would like,” says Josie Harris. “We were proud to donate so much brand new uniform, but to actually see it in action, and it have such great success, was just another bonus.”

SchoolUniformShop.co.uk founder, Luke Conod, adds: “We have worked so hard as a team over the last couple of years that finally we can give back in the best way we can during the current climate. Thank you to Ealing Broadway for allowing us this opportunity.”

Ealing Broadway and SchoolUniformShop.co.uk are hoping for more opportunities to relieve stress in communities by providing school uniform at future events.
