Testing, inspection and certification company SGS is hosting a complimentary webinar on 29 October 2026 focused on updates to safety requirements for textile products used in young children’s sleeping environments.
Titled ‘Children’s Sleep Safety: EN 16781:2026 and Other Textile Childcare Updates,’ the session will examine the revised EN 16781 standard covering safety requirements and test methods for children’s sleeping bags used in cots. First published in 2018, the standard has been updated for 2026, introducing changes for businesses placing these products on the European market.
SGS expert Valérie Cimetiere will guide attendees through the revised structure, key changes and retained requirements. The webinar will also outline the European General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) and its relevance to other textile products used in children’s sleeping environments, including quilts, footmuffs and angel nests.
Aimed at manufacturers, brands, retailers and suppliers importing or selling children’s sleep-related textile products in Europe, the webinar will take place at 10am CET and conclude with a Q&A session.
