Silver Cross and sister brand Micralite have donated thousands of pounds worth of prams and baby products to help families in need. The donations are in response to the Covid-19 crisis and more families seeking help from charities to provide essential items for their children.

Donations of travel systems, strollers, changing bags and baby bedding have gone to two charities – Leeds Baby Bank and London-based Little Village (pictured above).

Commenting is Chantal Nogbou, co-founder and managing partner of Leeds Baby Bank. “During the second week of April we handed out 60 emergency bundles in South Leeds only.

“Prior to Covid-19 we would have covered 15 to 20 referrals a week throughout the whole city, so it is a huge increase. The donations will benefit so many families in need during these difficult times.”

Also commenting is Sophia Parker, chief executive of Little Village. “With the impact of coronavirus, the families we support need our help more than ever. We have supported 760 families since mid-March – a steep rise of two-thirds. This incredibly generous donation from Silver Cross couldn’t have come at a better time.”

“We know lots of families have been struggling during the Covid-19 pandemic,” adds David Abbott, global head of brand for Silver Cross. “It’s great that we can help by donating these much-needed prams and baby products.

“Silver Cross and Micralite are delighted to support these two worthwhile charities. We hope our donations will help lots of families in need across the country.”
