Start-Rite has introduced 12 new styles across its primary and secondary Back to School collections alongside a new online retail partnership with Marks and Spencer. The news comes as the business continues its mission to help every parent and carer understand the importance of fitted footwear as a child develops during the school days.
Commenting is Jen Tyley, marketing and ecommerce director at Start-Rite Shoes. “Shoes are so much more than an item of school uniform; they are a piece of equipment that is fundamental to supporting the child’s development. Start-Rite school shoes protect developing cartilage, support joints, ligaments and tendons, reduce the risk of injury and enable healthy growth.
“Our creative theme, ‘There is nothing uniform about a Start-Rite school shoe’, is designed to improve understanding that no one shoe size or shape fits all, and each pair of feet has a set of needs that shoes should meet. Our 12 new school shoe styles for a/w 24, alongside new high-profile retail partnerships, demonstrate our commitment to the children’s shoe industry and support our growth ambitions.”
With a child wearing their school shoes for at least 1,280 hours each year, it’s vital they support healthy growth to avoid potential physical challenges later in life.
The 12 new Start-Rite school shoe styles for 2024, available in independent retailers, large multiples and online, have all been carefully designed to provide the support a child’s feet need during the school day and beyond.
Highlights of the new additions include Eclipse, an on-trend monk shoe style with a high-shine finish and chunky sole. Flourish, in the primary school collection, features a decorative bow in classic leather with added toe protection for durability.
Child appeal is also strong with Spider Web, a spider-themed school shoe. Featuring breathable textile and leather linings, it has padding to the ankles and collar as well as a removable insole for long-lasting comfort and protection.
