Fully circular peer-to-peer children’s clothing marketplace, dotte, has confirmed the addition of eight leading sustainable kidswear brands to its Resale Collective. These include Claude & Co, The Bright Company and Little Loves Cornwall.

The initiative – which launched last summer with leading brands such as Tobias and the Bear and Turtledove London – provides kidswear brands with a service to reduce their overall impact on the planet, complete with a readymade community of eager resellers.

Little Loves Cornwall

The process is simple.

When a customer sells an item from a Resale Collective partner’s brand on the dotte platform, the seller is gifted with money off that particular brand’s new stock as a thank you for keeping their garments in circulation. In turn, this reduces waste and minimises the impact of fast fashion by extending the lifecycle of the brand’s garments.

According to research from the marketplace, 183.6 million items of children’s clothing go to landfill every year. Through the Resale Collective, dotte hopes to encourage its community to continue purchasing from sustainable fashion brands while keeping their children’s outgrown clothing in circulation; ultimately helping to slow fashion down.

Cub & Pudding

Dinki Human, The QT, Marmalade Sky, Cub & Pudding and Raising Ravers join an ever-growing roster of kidswear brands, including Zig and Star, Another Fox, RaspberryPlum, Indikidual, Kiso and Mère Soeur.

Commenting is Amar, wholesale manager at Claude & Co.

“At Claude & Co, we pride ourselves on being a unisex brand and using sustainable, organic, part-recycled materials. However, we know this isn’t enough. We’re super excited to be joining the dotte Resale Collective and contribute to a circular model; making Claude & Co even more accessible and increasing the lifespan of our products too.”

Alienor Falconer, founder of The Bright Company (TBC), adds; “At TBC, we truly believe in the power of buying well, refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle. Our products are made to last and be passed on to new lives, dotte offers parents a really simple way to pass on used garments to homes that will really value and use them, all the while making back some precious funds for new garments.”

Also commenting is Samantha Valentine, co-founder of dotte.

“We’ve known about the environmental damage fast fashion causes for years, but for many parents, it can be difficult to find a suitable solution. The Resale Collective was launched to reduce the work for busy parents and reward them for helping to keep clothing in circulation for longer. We’re excited to see the Resale Collective grow and hope to welcome more leading sustainable brands onboard.”
