Karen O’Brien, owner of Banchory-based Taffy Tots Clothing, has been named Children’s Clothing Brand of the Year at the Scotland Prestige Awards for the third consecutive year.
Scotland’s Prestige Awards celebrate businesses and individuals who consistently offer excellent products and services across Scotland and beyond, with a specific focus on the SME community and independent retailer scene.
“It means so much to me, and to my family, to have been named winner of the Prestige Award,” says O’Brien. “There are thousands of small businesses, creatives and entrepreneurs right here in Scotland making incredible waves in the business world and it’s an honour to be counted among them.”
Mum to three boys, O’Brien launched Taffy Tots Clothing after seeing a gap in the market for fun, quality clothing with original designs and patterns for both boys and girls.
From her popular North Sea collections based around the beauty of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to highland wildlife designs featuring haggis, highland cows and the mythical Nessie, O’Brien has carved out a successful niche in the children’s clothing market.
Taffy Tots Clothing is now gearing up to launch its new summer 2024 collection, which features a range of its most popular styles. Handmade in the Taffy Tots Studio in Banchory and featuring new designs and prints, the collection for 0-6 years includes rompers, dresses, leggings, tops and a range of accessories.
