The New Year has brought with it an upbeat mood among designers that is translating into greater interest in decorative fabrics and vivid colours say the organisers of Textile Forum, the UK’s luxury fashion fabric show.

Taking place on 11-12 March 2020 at One Marylebone, London, the show will present over 100 collections. Highlights include Pongees, which is offering more fancy fabrics by taking on the UK agency for Portuguese supplier Sanmartin, whose collection complements its extensive plain fabric range.

At Bennett Silks, there are new silk/linen suiting qualities. Bernstein & Banleys, meanwhile, has a dozen fresh designs in its printed lining collection.

Textile Forum is a one-stop sourcing solution for designers

First-time exhibitor Storrs London has colour at the heart of its printed superfine cotton lawns influenced by the English Arts and Crafts movement. Colour is also a focus at Chrisanne Clover, whose high-performance fabrics are available in a vast palette.

Commenting on the upcoming show is Amy Packham, event director at Textile Forum. “Exhibitors are reporting that alongside this optimistic air, designers are showing increased signs of loyalty; they want to work even more closely with their fabric suppliers.

“This means the latter is not just developing the core products for which they have become well-known but also sourcing additional qualities to broaden their appeal which, in turn, is making the market even more competitive and exciting.”

In addition to exhibitors of fabric, trimmings, buttons and labels, there will be specialist garment and accessory manufacturers in the UKFT supported zone. These include Intimate Apparel Samples; MAES; Plus Samples; Ruth Glen; Sew It In London; and also Unlimited Fashion.

Textile Forum is open 10am to 6pm on 11-12 March 2020. Entry is free. For further information, please click here.
