The Campus is a new concept developed to include a flexible workspace, pop-up retail and an urban food hall. Plus, an interactive leisure area, including a bar and digital table games. Dreamt up by the teams behind Inc Retail and parent company Inc & Co, the project aims to revolutionise the way people shop, work and play.
Commenting is Dan Shaw, MD of Inc Retail. “We are delighted to be launching The Campus, our biggest move yet in redefining the retail landscape. The Campus will redefine how consumers use retail spaces. It will bring together people to allow them to work, shop, eat and play under one roof whilst also solving a growing challenge of repurposing vacant retail space. We are excited to be launching our first site later this year, followed by further sites in the second half of 2022.”
The Campus is an inclusive destination in cities for the new modern consumer to spend the day and evening in.
Convenience, experience and discovery will be at the centre of The Campus; supporting local brands and bringing new brands to market for the first time in physical retail space. Plans are to launch 10 sites in the UK by 2023, with sites in all major cities within five years.
Inc Retail’s sister company, incspaces, an expert, flexible workspace provider, will manage the workspace area within The Campus. Building on its high-quality offerings that already exist across the country and demonstrating the collaboration between the companies within the Inc & Co group.
Also commenting is Ben Perman, Creative Director of Inc Retail. “We have been developing this scheme over the last 12 months, working with an expert team across retail, workspace and construction sectors to create something special. We have designed a space that encourages collaboration and celebrates discovery and experience. Working with each of our brands and companies in the Inc & Co group, the proposition of The Campus will continually evolve, encouraging visitors to keep coming back to discover something new.”
Several of Inc Retail’s brands will exist within The Campus. However, new brands will join to sit beside them; a diverse retail mix of established and never seen before brands.
The Campus will occupy large-format vacant retail spaces.
It will therefore help solve a growing challenge within the retail and property industry; how to repurpose void retail spaces with long-term, high-quality schemes that will revitalise shopping centres and increase footfall as well as have a strong positive effect on asset value for landlords.
Jack Mason, Inc & Co Group CEO, says; “The Campus will disrupt the retail landscape and the standard shopping centre retail experience. Utilising the great expertise and companies we have within the Inc & Co group, our scheme will lead the way for future hybrid retail, workspace, F&B and leisure destinations. We will continue to develop and grow The Campus brand, offering to deliver a best-in-class experience that adapts to consumers changing needs.”
