The Parently Group’s relocation to its new headquarters in Bredbury is officially underway, with the site having already held its first event with the Circular Textiles Foundation (CTF).
Located on the first floor of the new premises, Parently Campus is a standalone event and conference facility that will be marketed to local businesses looking to hire event or meeting space.
Parently Campus recently held its inaugural event, which saw the CTF lead a Quantifying Circularity Workshop with the University of the Arts London and WRAP Textiles 2030. The session delved deep into the technicalities of designing for recyclability as well as the practical and tangible outcomes of this approach.
Invited brands from across the North West included David Luke, The Fraser Group, Pentland, Thrift+ and Alpkit, HD Textiles and We The Trendsetters.
Tim Cross from the CTF shared insights around circularity. There was also a case study presentation by The Parently Group’s CEO Kathryn Shuttleworth and Product Manager Ryan Cooke about the industry-first David Luke circular blazers and the company’s journey towards circularity.
In the afternoon, brands were invited to get hands-on with their own products, identifying where design for recycling would be most effective and sharing best practices from within their own organisations.
With the space set up to receive visitors, The Parently Group also held a business breakfast to connect with its new neighbours on the Bredbury Industrial Estate, with representatives from Stockport’s thriving business community joining to hear more about the Group’s values and purpose.
Commenting is Kathryn Shuttleworth, CEO of The Parently Group. “The Circular Textiles Foundation’s Quantifying Circularity Workshop was a brilliant first event in our new space, giving us a huge incentive to complete all those settling-in jobs to make us visitor-ready. It was great to meet our new neighbours at our ‘business-warming’ and we’re looking forward to hosting our retail customers after the busy Back to School season.”
