Four children stood outside wearing Juco activewear

Schoolwear Show exhibitors highlight their most popular products from the 2022 event as well as what’s new for Back to School 2023.

David Luke

The star product on David Luke’s stand at The Schoolwear Show was Juco (pictured top), offering sportswear kit for schools and teams. Visitors were very responsive to the flexibility of Juco’s new in-house print customisation service, which truly elevates the offering within the range. They also received further insight into the range expansion and new commercial incentives to make Juco a viable choice for retailers looking to upgrade their school kit proposition. There was a buzz around David Luke’s Circular Textiles Foundation partnership too, with the idea of a fully recyclable blazer really resonating with visitors and reinforcing the star potential of the new ‘designed for circularity garments’ when they launch this month.

APTUS

The Schoolwear Show saw Banner launch the brand new APTUS Sports Bra. This new product is the first sustainable, fully reversible sports bra that has been developed specifically for the education market, giving girls the tools to support themselves during school sports. With help from experts in breast health research, Banner presents a sports bra with both a scientifically informed structure and a school-appropriate design.

Charles Kirk

Well-known for premium knitwear, Charles Kirk continued to offer its customers the highest quality knitwear at The Schoolwear Show. Available in various compositions, including its industry-leading Heritage Premium Acrylic and Coolflow 50/50, Charles Kirk knitwear is engineered to be soft to the touch whilst able to withstand the rough and tumble of everyday school life. UK manufacture − something that is at the heart of the Charles Kirk name − is still available, along with the continuation of manufacturing offshore. This not only allows Charles Kirk to offer competitive prices but also ensures it can efficiently supply schoolwear with the fastest possible lead times. Available as both stock and made-to-order bespoke garments, all Charles Kirk knitwear can also be embroidered in-house to add that final finishing touch.

Falcon

The Schoolwear Show was a great success for sportswear supplier Falcon, with particular interest shown in its new Y35 Primary track pant and corresponding Y45 ¼ zip top. Customers commented that with the current trend of primary schools allowing the pupils to wear PE kit all day, these garments were ideal. Furthermore, both garments are manufactured from 100% recycled polyester, are hard wearing and benefit from easy washability.

One+All

Available to view at the 2022 show was One+All’s range of eco blazers and jackets suitable for every school’s needs. One+All Performa Eco Blazers come in Unisex and Girls styles in black, bottle, navy, maroon, grey and royal, and sizes 22” to 50”. One+All Performa Eco Jackets come in Unisex, Girls Classic and Girls styles in black and navy, and sizes 28” to 48”. Both blazers and jackets can be personalised with embroidered badges in just three working days. One+All offers a trim service, too.

Chadwick Teamwear

Chadwick Teamwear’s iGen range took centre stage at the show, having become a staple for many schoolwear resellers. Due to its popularity, the original four-piece iGen PE and games kit (unisex polo and short, and a female polo and skort) has been increased to a seven-piece kit. All items are at an entry level price to appeal to mainstream schools without compromising on quality. Plus, all iGen styles use technically superior fabrics/trims in keeping with the rest of Chadwick’s stock range. The iGen range has also been enhanced with a midlayer, which will be available in nine stock colour combinations including a new black/purple colour combination for 2023. Made from durable 230gsm flat knit polyester with warm brushed back, the contemporary design uses durable, easy-care fabric. This is complemented by the hard-wearing tapered pant using the same 230gsm warm brushed back fabric with contrast stretch rib calf panelling, locking ankle zips and two zip pockets. Completing the new look iGen Games Kit is the popular Academy Legging. A staple for many customers, the style remains the same but will now be known as the iGen Legging.

Stabilo

Stationery expert Stabilo’s EASY Start product range aims to help children as they embark on their handwriting journey. The bestselling product is the EASYoriginal refillable rollerball. Recommended by teachers, the pen features a triangular grip zone for left- or right-handed children. It can be refilled with line widths of 0.5mm (in blue, black and red) and 0.3mm for finer writing (in blue) and comes in a wide range of colours including a new pastel collection and the bold Holograph collection. Alongside the EASYoriginal pen are the EASYgraph and EASYgraph S pencils. Also available for left- and right-handed children, both feature a triangular shaft design with cut-out moulds to encourage the correct tripod grip. The pencils are made with wood harvested from renewable and sustainable forests and come in a range of bright colours, including metallics.
