Michelle Ovens, CBE, CEO & Founder of Small Business Britain at the Small Awards 2026

The Small Awards, which marks its 10th anniversary in 2026, celebrates the nation’s ‘smallest and greatest’ small businesses across all sectors and is organised by Small Business Britain, which champions, inspires and accelerates small businesses in the UK.

From high street heroes and sole traders to sustainability leaders, over 80 independent businesses across 12 categories were celebrated and spotlighted for their achievements and community contributions.

Among the winners was Little Scandi Baby, a sustainable children’s clothing company, which received the ‘New Kid on the Block’ award for its growth in less than a year.

Commenting is Michelle Ovens CBE (pictured top), founder of Small Business Britain. “Small businesses contribute enormously to the UK economy, but are also the backbone of their local communities, offering spaces for connection and relationships as well as employment. Every year, The Small Awards recognise their efforts after a nationwide search of the smallest and greatest of businesses.

“We have read tens of thousands of award submissions over a decade, celebrating the very best of the small economy, and every year we are impressed and moved by the commitment and love shown by our business owners. We are incredibly proud of all the nominees and congratulate the winners for their success and look forward to celebrating them at our London ceremony, which champions these inspiring entrepreneurs and their businesses.”

The Small Awards were judged by a panel of leading enterprise experts. Guests enjoyed a night of entertainment at Christ Church in London’s Spitalfields. To find out more about the winners, please click here.
