Toy swap subscription service Whirli celebrates one year under new ownership
A year since its relaunch, toy swap subscription service, Whirli, is marking a significant milestone in reaffirming its commitment to UK parents and reviving the trust of its customer base.
Under the new ownership of sisters Sanam and Iram Saghir, who acquired the brand and reintroduced it to the public in August 2022, Whirli has successfully navigated through the initial challenges. The duo orchestrated the relocation of thousands of toys to a new facility whilst working towards re-establishing the bond with the Whirli community.
In a bid to further enhance the customer experience, Whirli recently unveiled its Customer Refund Program. This initiative facilitates credits towards new subscriptions, allowing a seamless resumption of the Whirli journey. It’s also an invitation for former subscribers to re-engage with Whirli’s eco-friendly toy-sharing ecosystem.
While the essence of Whirli’s business model remains, the focal point of the past year has been on augmenting the service through continual innovation.
This includes extending the product array to encompass premium toy brands and baby equipment. Also, partnering with Twinkl to provide educational resources for parents. Whirli has now become the sole approved rental partner for brands such as Leclerc, Stokke and Cybex. Going forward, the emphasis continues to be on sustainability, combating the waste generated from toy packaging and the disposal of toys once children outgrow them.
Commenting is Sanam Saghir, managing director at Whirli. “The past year has been busy but hugely successful for us. We have focused on improving our offering as well as bringing vital reassurance to our customers across the country following the previous year’s challenges.”
Whirli’s model entails a monthly or annual subscription in exchange for tokens that can be redeemed for toys to be kept, returned, or swapped at the end of each month. For further information on Whirli, please click here.
