Schoolblazer

Schoolblazer is focused on becoming the most sustainable schoolwear retailer. It now offsets all of the carbon emissions created in the production and supply of its garments and has a clear action plan to reduce the carbon intensity of its products and operations.

The retailer believes that the biggest challenge facing the planet is carbon emissions. Subsequently, it has chosen to make this the business’s primary focus. However, Schoolblazer is also working on other environmental initiatives. For instance, moving to recycled polyester, reducing single-use plastics and becoming full members of the ETI.

Since the company’s inception in 2004, a key area of focus has been the sustainable creation of uniform and sportswear.

One of the biggest issues Schoolblazer faces is that all fibre and garment creation uses energy and contributes to its carbon emissions. For this reason, the retailer’s key concept is “Durability = Sustainability”. Ensuring its clothes are well-made with quality fabrics to make them last, therefore reducing the amount of garment and energy waste.

Schoolblazer’s progress to date, as well as the company’s goals for the future, are available via its Environmental Impact Report. To read the report, please click here. Alternatively, to learn more about Schoolblazer, please click here.
