Homepage of the Bubbawears website

The story of Bubbawears began during the pandemic when founder Georgie Whiteway was pregnant with her son. Once he was born, Whiteway realised many of the items she had bought him were either going to the charity shop or had never been worn. Cue the launch of Bubbawears in 2022; a circular fashion platform providing sustainable and ethical children’s brands alongside a broad range of pre-loved options.

Bubbawears offers both dead and new stock from brands including Liewood, Organic Zoo, Sleepy Doe, Avery Row, Fridge, Mushie, Binibamba, Silly Sillas, Smaller Explorer, Rockahula Kids and Miffy. It also offers customers a buy back service that allows any brand-new pieces purchased through the store to have a second life. In return, customers receive store credit for their next purchase, whether that be new, re-sale or pre-loved.

Plans for the business include becoming the official buy back service for the brands it works with. Longer-term, Whiteway would like to open a second physical shop following the opening of a pop-up store in Ramsgate as well as launch ‘Mamawears’ and eventually grow the online platform to allow sellers to list and sell online.
