A team from school uniform accessories supplier, William Turner, are doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Magic Breakfast. Magic Breakfast, William Turner’s nominated charity for 2023, delivers free breakfasts to school children in England and Scotland to ensure no child is too hungry to learn and thrive.

On 22 July, members from the company including Andy Smith, John Turner and Dan Turner will take on the 24.5-mile hike, which must be completed in under 12 hours. All funds raised will go towards the charity’s work providing healthy school breakfasts to children at risk of hunger in disadvantaged areas of the UK.

As the cost of living continues to rise, statistics on hunger and food insecurity are becoming increasingly alarming.

The latest Food Insecurity Tracker from the Food Foundation has found that 4 million children are at risk of starting their day hungry. This threatens the health, well-being and contribution of a whole generation. For just 28p, Magic Breakfast can give a child a nutritious breakfast at school as well as wrap-around support.

Commenting on the challenge is Andy Smith (pictured above), sales director at William Turner. “Being in schoolwear, we can think of no better cause than to help feed the hundreds of thousands of children we clothe who are going to school in this country each morning without breakfast.”
