Young Soles, the award-winning luxury children’s footwear brand, is launching its first-ever Vegan Collection.
The collection, which is in response to an exponential rise in demand for ethical fashion choices, is made from sustainable, recyclable materials. It also maintains the brand’s ethos of bringing British heritage and contemporary styling to children’s shoes.
Commenting is Young Soles founder and creative director, Louise Shill. “Since our inception five years ago, we’ve been repeatedly asked if we could create the same beautiful shoes, sandals and boots for families who are concerned with animal welfare and environmental issues. So, we’ve taken three of our most popular summer styles and made them vegan-friendly.”
Sandals Pearl and Sonny, alongside the classic T-bar style, Rosie, have each been given a make-over. Using extremely breathable, state-of-the-art materials, the vegan shoes feature onMicro® (uppers) and onSteam® (lining); both made by Grupo Morón, an innovative textiles developer based in Spain.
Certified by the European Vegetarian Union, the production of onMicro® and onSteam® has limited impact on the environment. Plus, as ethical microfibers, they are also free from Chrome VI and do not contain any animal-derived substances.
Good for the planet and good for parents
Furthermore, the Young Soles Vegan Collection is fully recyclable whilst remaining robust and resistant to abrasion. For example, onMicro® reproduces the characteristics of natural cowhide in a microfiber; it is also 100% waterproof and machine washable up to 60°c.
Coupled with onSteam® lining, which is highly absorbent, hypoallergenic and antibacterial, the Young Soles Vegan Collection is good for growing feet, too.
About Young Soles
Made for babies and toddlers through to juniors, Young Soles’ designs focus on the features most important to children’s footwear. This includes lasts that follow the shape of the foot with a wide toe and narrow heel; comfortable soft leather uppers and linings that allow the upper to mould to the contours of the foot; and a lightweight and flexible outsole for growing feet and first steps.
