Lilac Young soles sandals

This season sees award-winning luxury children’s footwear brand Young Soles introduce the new British Heritage Collection. The small collection adds a softer, flexible TR rubber-sole to the Young Soles family, increasing the choice of footwear.

Highlights include ‘Diana’ and ‘Dolly’; both stylish Mary Jane shoes with a slim strap and a cleverly disguised Velcro fastening behind a single buckle together with heritage brogue punch detailing.

‘Lucy’ is a classic double-strap T-bar that also has a Velcro fastening disguised behind its buckles as well as dragonfly punch detailing. Finally, ‘Tommy’ is a practical unisex lace-up boot with a padded leather collar.

The remainder of the footwear company’s s/s 21 collection stays true to its ethos of evoking childhood memories and sees it get back to nature in a vegetable patch.

Reinventing British heritage styles by bringing contemporary styling to children’s shoes.

Sharing more on the new season is Young Soles founder and creative director, Louise Shill. “After spending so much time at home in 2020, the idea of self-sufficiency or locally sourced goods are more front-of-mind than ever.

“It really brought back a nostalgic sense of yearning for simpler, more innocent times. Like the popular UK 70s sitcom, The Good Life, which is a show I loved as a kid.

“So, for this season’s photo shoot, we thought we would explore the world of staycations and grow-your-own fruit and veg. The wonder of nature has always fascinated me. The idea that you plant a small seed and it grows into a massive vegetable is so inspiring. And what kid doesn’t like messing around in the garden?

“We gathered together some of our favourite vegetables and visited a little vegetable patch in an English country garden. The children were let loose with trowels and spades and the result was much more muddy fingers than green fingers.

“The colours for our latest collection take inspiration from nature; an earthy colour palette of chestnut brown, clay, mustard and pea-green complemented by bright primary colours like lilac, ocean blue, red and mellow yellow.”

Available for babies, toddlers and juniors, designs focus on the features most important to children’s footwear.

These include lasts that follow the shape of the foot with a wide toe and narrow heel. Also, comfortable soft leather uppers and linings that allow the upper to mould to the contours of the foot. Not to mention a lightweight and flexible outsole for growing feet and first steps.
