As the coronavirus continues to impact the global economy, William Turner can confirm its UK school tie manufacturing capacity remains unaffected.

With fabric woven locally, and two wholly-owned factories in Skipton and Nelson, the company is now working to meet an upturn in demand in the face of Back to School.

William Turner’s Eco Ties have also been a popular addition this year.

In fact, the company is seeing many of its customers switching their schools onto this new quality. The Eco Ties use bottles that are consumed and recycled in Europe. This avoids the possibility of them being exported and ending in dumpsites in third world countries.

Both the cloth and the ties are again made in the UK. This is an important factor not only in terms of recycling but in the company’s carbon footprint. For instance, flying 100 ties in from China adds 29 kilos of carbon to the footprint of the product compared to 0.004kg made in the UK.

The business is also committing to eradicate plastic in its supply chain. It is doing this by withdrawing ties in plastic sleeves unless specifically requested.

William Turner carries the industry’s largest range of ties, with over 80 designs in six sizes available from stock for next day delivery. Click here to see if any of your current designs match its stock.
