CWB editor Laura Turner selects the latest must-have children’s brands to get in store.

Rosa & Blue

Pollyanna De Saulles launched her minimalistic, gender-neutral children’s sleepwear brand, Rosa & Blue, (pictured above) in 2021. Named after her daughters Rosa and Bluebell, the brand specialises in creating luxurious, breathable and sustainable sleepwear for babies and children up to the age of six years. Featuring both bamboo and organic cotton, the collection comprises all key baby sleepwear pieces. Highlights include sleepsuits, sleeping bags, muslins and blankets, as well as matching pyjamas for older children. Furthermore, Rosa & Blue’s gender-neutral and exclusive prints are all hand-painted in-house by De Saulles’ husband.

Little Swallow

This year, handmade baby and children’s clothing brand Little Swallow is focused on developing the wholesale side of its business. Amy Swallow initially founded the brand in 2018 to provide a gender-neutral high street option for boys. Inspired by all things magical coupled with a vintage twist, the collection includes leggings, dungarees, rompers and dresses for ages 0-6 years. Using organic fabrics wherever possible, the clothes are made in low volume batches and hand-cut and sewn entirely in the UK.

OriOrso

OriOrso is a colourful, unisex baby brand designed to make parents’ lives easier. Launched last year and branching into wholesale for 2023, OriOrso began as a maternity project when founder Claire Grant couldn’t find a way to keep her daughter’s socks on. To fix the problem, she sewed socks into the hems of all her daughter’s trousers. She then utilised her product development background to officially create Jogger Socks – joggers with non-slip socks attached to the hem. Made in the UK via a small batch production process, Jogger Socks are available for ages 0-3 years in five unisex prints.

Boardies®

Boardies® started in London in 2015, filling a gap in the swim shorts market for original designs in vibrant colours. It launched in Selfridges menswear and quickly gathered success overseas in the USA, Australia, Canada and Europe. Customer demand then led to the launch of boys’ shorts followed by girls’ swimsuits and an exclusive collaboration with Liberty London. Today, the kids’ collection for 0-12 months to 13 years comprises boys’ shorts; girls’ one-pieces and separates; rash guards with UPF; T-shirts; shirts; baby rompers, and baby twin sets. There are also beach hats and beach towels. Additionally, all products are made from sustainable materials.
