For the first time in 50 years, Reiss is applying its distinctive style into a collection for children. The line has been created by the same in-house team, under the same aesthetic philosophy, and with the same approach to design, quality and detail seen in the grown-up ranges.
The inspiration for the collection is “modern children” and a belief that children are individuals with personal style.
Reiss fans will recognise house signatures such as the tailored overcoat, suede jacket and refined knitwear. Leisurewear – a recent hit category for Reiss – also appears in children’s versions. Additionally, stretch jeans, puffer jackets and T-shirts anchor the collection.
The girlswear and boyswear ranges are available in ages 4-9 years. For s/s 22, however, the size range will extend to 12 years. The collection features 140 styles and includes jerseys; knitwear; woven tops; shirts; tailoring; denim; outerwear; leather; shearling and accessories.
“This is the first time Reiss has designed for children,” says womenswear director, Una Joyce. “We listened to our customers and the children around us to help create this collection.”
Menswear director, Alex Field, adds; “We learned that, just like grown-ups, children want a modern, effortless wardrobe. We then designed each piece to look and feel quintessentially Reiss.”
Since 1971, Reiss has dressed its customers for decisive moments in clothes that are timelessly modern.
During this time, it established a recognisable aesthetic, an array of signature items and a loyal following that includes celebrities and royalty, including the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex.
The childrenswear collection launches globally on 20 October 2021 via Reiss’ website. It will also be available through a select few partners, including Next, John Lewis, Selfridges and Nordstrom in the US.
