Different coloured ties are a cost-effective and efficient way of distinguishing house colours. However, they can also play an important role in visually distinguishing ‘pupil bubbles’ when children return to school.
William Turner recently worked on such a project with independent schoolwear retailer, Impressions. Impressions was approached by one of its local schools to provide a distinctive plain tie to ensure all pupils are easily identified in their ‘bubbles’ when they return in September.
The school chose William Turner’s off the shelf stock ties to guarantee it would have them distributed to all pupils in time. Artwork is normally available within 24 hours, or samples from stock for schools that are interested in the idea.

Special ties
William Turner’s fabric is woven and its ties are made at its factories here in the UK. It is, therefore, still able to offer delivery before Back to School. Nevertheless, orders need to be placed quickly as production slots are filling up. Minimums start at 36 pieces on striped ties, with the current lead time being six weeks. The company is also supplying a greater number of its Eco Ties. The polyester for the ties uses recycled bottles all sourced from Italy, helping reduce carbon footprint and save the planet.
