KAMO is a new line of sustainable childrenswear available in sizes 2 to 14 years. The brand was co-founded by Claire Hester – a former buyer for Marks & Spencer, Ralph Lauren, New Look, Jigsaw and most recently, head of buying at The White Company – and Lauren Pearson, a 20-year veteran of the children’s publishing industry and the author of five books for young readers.

KAMO’s colourful prints are a combination of photography and hand-painted detail. Essentially the clothing is a wearable work of art; utilising state-of-the-art digital printing technology to produce lifelike imagery on fabrics sourced from cotton farmers supported by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).

The vibrant colours of KAMO hoodies, joggers, leggings, tees and dresses won’t fade with washing; the clothes are made to wear, love and hand down. Highlights include KAMMY the Chameleon, KAMO’s mascot. KAMMY hides in the prints and also blends into the solids, giving the designs an interactive element to fire up young imaginations.

Prints take inspiration from playground doodles, sports pitches and ball pits.

Commenting on the collection is co-founder, Claire Hester. “In creating KAMO, our emphasis has been on providing an all-round great customer experience; value for money through great quality, our use of BCI cotton and sustainable packaging, and a unique set of prints that offer something unlike anything else in the market right now.”

“KAMO is a little retro, a lot loud, and a ton of fun,” adds Lauren Pearson. “We really aimed this line at the children themselves. There’s so much to discover in our designs. Like the sock hidden in our ball pit print and the noughts and crosses on our playground print. This past year has given all of us a massive appreciation for the places we missed so dearly, and our designs are a wearable celebration of that.”
