New sustainable kids’ clothing start-up KooKoo But Kind is the latest independent brand to join John Lewis’ Great British Pop-Up.

Launched in John Lewis Brent Cross on 10 May, the brand will showcase its gender-neutral Be Kind and Endangered collections. These include a range of upcycled jackets as well as T-shirts, hoodies and accessories.

Knowing that kids’ clothing can inspire good as well as looking good, each of the brand’s collections gently raises awareness of global challenges. For example, waste, racial equality and endangered animals.

Designed and produced in the UK using the finest raw and recycled materials, all of the brand’s garments are chemical-free. They are also produced in factories that get 100% of their electricity from renewable sources. This is in addition to using 100% carbon-neutral gas to minimise their carbon footprint.

Furthermore, every item KooKoo But Kind sells helps to buy land and reforest the planet through protected conservation partnerships.

Commenting is mother of three and KooKoo But Kind founder, Anjelic Kumedzina. “I’m delighted to be part of the John Lewis Great British Pop-Up. As a small independent brand, it’s fantastic to have a concession in a well-respected department store and be exposed to a new audience; especially now the nation is returning to the high street.

“We hope this will be the start of a wonderful partnership with John Lewis and hope to secure dates in other department stores around the UK throughout the year.”

The week-long pop-up forms part of the department store’s Great British Pop-Up initiative. The initiative aims to give independent brands and makers the chance to increase brand awareness within the confines of a busy John Lewis store.
