Award-winning children’s footwear brand Young Soles continues to embody British heritage and contemporary styling with the launch of its s/s 20 collection.

Staying true to the Young Soles brand ethos of evoking childhood memories, the collection takes inspiration from a visit to grandma’s house.

Commenting on the new season is Louise Shill, founder and creative director of Young Soles. “As a kid, I remember endless weekends exploring my grandma’s house. There was always loads of things to play with and discover. Everything seemed so different from my parents’ house – and so old.

 

 

“We were lucky to find a house hidden away on the Kent coast that has retained many of the vintage features that inspired this collection; for example, wood panelling, an orange and brown colour scheme, large floral prints and chunky knit throws.

“With a beautiful garden that looked out to the French coast, it was the perfect backdrop to our s/s 20 photoshoot.

“The colours for our latest collection have been inspired by a vintage, mid-20th century colour palette of clementine, chestnut brown, mustard, ocean blue, pea green, smoky sage and, for the first time on a Young Soles shoe, a floral print.”

 

 

SS20 also sees the introduction of ‘Felix’

Felix is a classic stitch-down desert boot on a rubber sole with a contoured cushioned insole and inside zip. There’s also Humphrey, a Velcro high-top boot that joins a growing family of sporty cup-soles.

Finally, new Mary-Jane style Martha has a contoured cushioned insole complete with a rubber sole, simple brogue collar and a vintage-inspired Velcro buckle strap.

Made for babies, toddlers and juniors, Young Soles’ designs focus on the features most important to children’s footwear. For instance, lasts that follow the shape of the foot with a wide toe and narrow heel; comfortable soft leather uppers; and linings that allow the upper to mould to the contours of the foot.

 

 

With a lightweight and flexible outsole for growing feet and first steps, Young Soles’ styles complement a variety of outfits.
