Launching online this week, the family team behind new clothing brand Moore Maxxam set out on an adventure to create a collection of revolutionary, sustainable, comfortable and multi-purpose slow fashion clothing, kicking off with the Mini Maxx collection for kids aged 6 months to 14 years.
The story started when Rosemary Moore invented the unique MAXXAM® fabric in the early 80s. Taking the fashion world by storm, it became renowned for its 4-way stretch, tactile characteristics and one-size-fits-all seamless clothing.
Rosemary and her daughter Iona co-founded Moore Maxxam to bring the fabric’s characteristics to the younger generation. Misia, Iona’s sister, also came on board after she fell in love with the fabric and noticed that kids loved wearing it as much as she loves wearing it herself.
Fun, colour and movement permeate through the entire brand.
The Mini Maxx Collection comprises four pieces; a bodysuit, playsuit, long shorts and a vest top. Each piece is designed to be multi-activity, allowing the wearer to dance, swim and play.
The Bodysuit acts as a bodysuit and swimsuit in one. Fitted but flexible, it can be styled with leggings, a skirt, or just by itself. The Long Shorty can be worn as swim shorts, exercise shorts, or simply as casual shorts. The Playsuit, meanwhile, is a comfortable and adaptable all in one. Finally, the Vesty is a soft and stretchy vest top to wear with the brand’s shorts for any sporty occasion or with jeans to relax.
The Mini Maxx Collection is water-friendly, sport-friendly and play-friendly.
Pieces are available in three sizes – small, medium, and large – and stretch across 14 years. The smallest size (6 months to 3 years) is also suitable to fit around a nappy.
Each style has been thoughtfully designed just for kids and is available in three bold colours; Tang (a vibrant orange), Sky (a stand-out blue), and Zest (a very bright, citrusy yellow). The MAXXAM® fabric, meanwhile, offers 100% stretch, which means it can double in size. It is also seamless, so no itchy seams.
