The brainchild of Carlene Phillips, Kids Life Clothing is a new online platform that celebrates children through stylish, luxury clothing.
With the closure of more high street shops due to Covid-19, demand for online stores continues to increase. Kids Life Clothing delivers a digital platform for brands to house their products. It also provides parents, family members and gift buyers with a convenient outlet to shop.
In March, Phillips successfully raised over £6,000 through the NatWest crowdfunding initiative, Back Her Business. She also attracted over 100 supporters to the platform.
With help from Sophie Biggerstaff from retail consultancy BYRCOLLECTIVE, plus mentors Byron and Bianca Miller-Cole, authors of ‘Self Made, The definitive guide to business start-up and success’, Phillips launched the website in August.

“I want my platform to be accessible to everyone everywhere,” says Phillips. “To provide luxury across all price ranges and to include independent luxury brands that sit side by side big fashion house names. Luxury is for everyone. I want everyone who shops at Kids Life Clothing to feel we have given them that extra bit of luxury through every item they buy.”
Kids Life Clothing aims to provide a stress-free shopping experience; clothing children through every stage of childhood and combining the best brands in one place.
Phillips’ aim now is to change the face of the childrenswear market, one step at a time. She has great aspirations for the platform; being a black-owned, female-run business, she wants to show other women from all backgrounds that female-run businesses can be successful and also to follow their dreams.
