At a time when ethical and sustainable fashion is firmly under the radar, organic clothing company Toby Tiger is celebrating an impressive 21-year milestone.
Knitwear designer and bestselling author, Zoe Mellor, founded Toby Tiger back in 1998 after spotting a gap in the market to make kids’ clothes fun, practical and environmentally friendly.
After seeking the best suppliers of organic cotton and planet-friendly dyes, and just a few months after her son Toby was born, Mellor launched the brand; initially offering colourful and original slogan T-shirts.
Toby Tiger has always remained true to its philosophy; to design thoughtful and vibrant organic clothing that can be worn again and again.
Toby Tiger is certified by the Soil Association. It is also GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), supporting ethical working and helping to protect the planet. Furthermore, the company is passionate about slow fashion, designing colourful, timeless collections that won’t date.
With clever design details like adjustable shoulder straps and reversible fabrics, Toby Tiger’s playful prints, fun appliques and signature stripes both wear and wash well.
New wholesale website
As well as its anniversary, Toby Tiger is also celebrating a new and improved website. The new site makes placing orders easier for wholesale customers. Trade customers can also use it to manage their account and preview upcoming season collections.

An award-winning brand
Backing up its eco-credentials, Toby Tiger also received Gold in the Best Ethical Brand category at this year’s Loved By Parents Awards. Plus, it is a finalist in the Best Heritage Children’s Fashion Brand in this year’s Junior Design Awards.
Commenting on the brand’s accolades is founder and lead designer, Zoe Mellor. “This is the first time we’ve entered any awards so we’re ecstatic to win and receive acknowledgement.
