Parenting platform ParentChum has launched a brand-new marketplace supporting small business owners, independent boutiques and craft makers.
BabyChum serves as a one-stop-shop for mums and dads; a marketplace for a wide range of products, all parent, child and family-related. Collections include children’s shoes, handmade toys and nursery decor to name but a few.
Laura McBride and Laura Boswell are the founders of BabyChum.
The family-related marketplace aims to support stay at home mums. In particular, those who run a small business but who may struggle to be seen or have their own shop window.
The new marketplace, whose sellers are 98% female and over half with children, has had sales every single day since its launch on 11 April. With a clear selling point and strong brand vision, the owners haven’t struggled to get sellers on-board. The flexibility to run a business around other commitments is proving to be highly attractive to women with children.
Commenting is Laura Boswell, director of BabyChum. “We aim to support talented and creative people to grow their passion into a full-time business.
“We’re proud to be able to give many parents the right platform to work around their children, especially during times like these when sales and income can be a worry. We are allowing mums and dads to be a parent whilst earning an income too, helping to see them through this uncertain time.”
The marketplace focuses solely on the niche of handmade baby, parenting and family-related gifts.
Laura McBride adds: “We are fully aware of the hardships people are experiencing right now. Many are worrying about the uncertainty of what’s ahead, which is why we want to do all we can to contribute to the success of small businesses.
“We are going against the grain, flipping this situation on its head, and launching something special at a time when people are looking for motivation and guidance the most. We’re confident in our platform and the success our sellers will have.”
