Specialist school uniform retailer School Bells has opened a new store in Ashford, Middlesex. Opening its doors on 9 April, Ashford marks the company’s second shop, with the first being located in Hounslow.
Expansion of the business has been on the cards for some time, with the pandemic delaying plans by around three years. However, company director Prashant Kapoor was keen to persevere with the project as he goes on to explain.
“We were restricted due to our current location and shop size,” says Kapoor. “To increase the number of schools we serve and to reach more parents, it was important we went ahead with our expansion plans. We aim to extend our services to nearby areas like Ashford, Sunbury-on-Thames, Shepperton, Hampton, Laleham, Staines, Walton-on-Thames and further into Middlesex and Surrey.
“Due to the introduction of new school uniform guidance and the current cost of living crisis, we also felt there was a need to offer more options to parents looking for sustainable uniform at affordable prices.”
Starting with only two schools in 2012, School Bells is now the preferred school uniform supplier to more than 50 schools in the UK.
With two shops now under its belt, School Bells aspires to open more in the future, providing ethically sourced and sustainable school uniform at affordable prices. In the meantime, however, the focus remains on growing the business with the additional store.
“We are confident about our products and the prices we offer,” says Kapoor. “Add to that our friendly customer service and you cannot go wrong. Having another store will certainly help us reach out to more schools, meaning parents can benefit by buying high-quality school uniform locally at a better price, which will also increase our footfall and portfolio.”
