Global lifestyle brand Ted Baker has entered into a new product licence agreement with Next to accelerate the expansion of its childrenswear collections. Ted Baker’s current childrenswear product relationship with Debenhams will subsequently end on 29 February 2020.

Initially running for a five-year period, the new agreement will see Next both create and sell Ted Baker childrenswear products. As well as baby, boys’ and girls’ clothing, collections will also include shoes and accessories.

Launching for spring 2020, the new collections will be available via Next’s retail channels and wholesale relationships. They will also sell through Ted Baker’s websites.

Commenting is Lindsay Page, chief executive officer of Ted Baker. “This exciting product licence with Next will support the continued expansion of our growing childrenswear collections.

“Product licensing is a proven and highly successful pillar of our strategy to expand as a global lifestyle brand. It enables us to carefully develop the brand in new, relevant categories; leveraging the specialist product expertise of our carefully selected partners.

“Our childrenswear collections – which are small in size but big in style – have already proven incredibly popular with customers. As a multi-channel retailer with global capabilities and wholesale experience, Next is the outstanding partner to take Ted Baker forward in this category, which we believe will deliver significant growth in the coming years.”

Also commenting on the partnership is Simon Wolfson, chief executive officer of Next. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to help build and develop the Ted Baker children’s business across the globe.”
