Term Footwear new school shoe range

Term Footwear, which designs, manufactures and sells school shoes, has hit its Kickstarter target to produce a new school footwear range. The new Sole Buddy collection was originally due to launch just before the UK lockdown. However, plans for the range were then put on hold due to the pandemic.

Term Footwear reacted by turning to a Kickstarter campaign to raise £10,000 to get the first production of the school shoes made and sold. The campaign has now closed having raised £11,670, achieving 117% of the target. Term Footwear can confirm, therefore, that production will go ahead.

Commenting is brand co-owner, Sharon New. “This campaign has been a launchpad for Sole Buddy by Term, providing the necessary funding during this extraordinary worldwide lockdown.

“Our award-winning factory is based in China in a region where the lockdown has thankfully ended. The factory is well known to us throughout our careers. We have worked closely with them to source the best materials and design school shoes that fit our exacting requirements.

180 people backed Term Footwear’s Kickstarter campaign

“Production is planned and can be scaled if necessary; up to four times our Kickstarter target for September delivery and as much as required for January 2021 and Easter 2021 delivery. Our UK warehouse and office are currently working well under social distancing guidelines and can increase the workforce.

“As stores begin to reopen, we have already seen an uplift in trade orders for the new Sole Buddy range. We have put in place the manufacturing to allow for this.

“Watch out for more developments too; new school styles are in the pipeline and other children’s footwear developments are being finalised as we speak.”
