Summer in the City, the s/s 24 collection by Turtledove London, takes inspiration from the biodiversity of London and some of the 14,000 different species of plants, animals and fungi recorded there. This is balanced with the reminder to protect and restore our natural world, with so many native UK species facing extinction.
The collection offers a unisex palette in harmony with the natural world. Colours are also designed to coordinate back with previous collections to maximise longevity.
Print highlights include the Birdsong print, which celebrates the 300+ species of birds to be found in London during a typical year. Other flying friends include St James Park Pelicans and damselflies, which light up London’s streams, rivers and ponds. The distinctive markings of peacocks and butterflies also inspire the Eyespot print.
Timeless separates for girls and boys in GOTS certified organic cotton fabric.
Elsewhere, the much-loved bear character returns for another season. Appliques, prints and 3D features showcase Mr Bear across the collection, celebrating the once-common predator and highlighting the plight of many other native animals facing extinction. Chequerboard designs echo London tiling, while graffiti doodles and fine stripes take a closer look at iconic architecture enveloping the natural world.
Organic cotton jacquard and loopback sweat offer weatherproofing solutions, which also mix and match with any Turtledove London piece. Textured fabrics bring a new look to clean silhouettes and complement bestselling ribs and gauze.
Neutral-toned towelling reflects the skylines of London where wildflowers surprisingly sprout. An alternative to rib, the textured jersey has a super-soft knit for ultimate comfort in a sky-blue hue. New sweat fabrics include Nep Sweat with a speckled effect reminiscent of delicate eggshells.
Positive messaging appears as prints and embroideries.
Due to popular demand, this season sees the return of the two-pack layering T-shirts. Available in classic colour pops from the collection, the T-shirts are an ideal layering piece for the brand’s bestselling dungaree category and as a backdrop to printed bottoms.
