The Wood Street Mission charity, which helps families and children across Manchester and Salford and also runs the SmartStart free school uniform programme, has launched its 2021 Christmas Appeal.
Every Christmas, Wood Street Mission provides new toys and gifts for children aged 0-14 years to ensure they have something special to open on Christmas Day. Families come and choose the gifts they would like to give their children from the selection donated by supporters.
2020 saw the distribution of 12,500 Christmas presents and the support of 400 volunteers.
Wood Street Mission is calling for donations of new toys, gifts, or books, unwrapped, for ages 0-14 years. Please refer to its Gift Ideas List for suggestions. The closing date for donations is Friday 10 December.
Gifts can be dropped off Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm, at Wood Street Mission, 26 Wood Street, Manchester M3 3EF. There is no need to make an appointment. Alternatively, to arrange a collection please contact collections@woodstreetmission.org.uk.
If you are a company, school or other organisation wanting to support the Appeal, please contact steph@woodstreetmission.org.uk. For further information on Wood Street Mission and the Christmas Appeal 2021, please click here.
