For its 25th anniversary, Danish childrenswear brand Wheat is transforming the traditional runway into a playground, unveiling its s/s 27 collection, Sunshine Society, on 4 August 2026.

Set at Hauser Plads, a location rooted in Copenhagen’s architectural identity and culture of thoughtfully designed public playgrounds, Wheat’s presentation unfolds as an outdoor living installation.

At its centre stands a large-scale pillow fort constructed from textiles drawn directly from the collection – continuously reshaped through interaction and play. During the presentation, nine-year-old violinist Paloma Hubert Toghill, together with her ensemble, will perform live.

A fashion show turned playground

Open to the public, the traditional runway format is being reimagined. Children guide the experience by co-creating a space designed for exploration on their terms, where curiosity sets the rules. The presentation reflects on the meeting between industry and family life, two worlds that rarely meet during fashion weeks. Guests are not asked to watch from the sidelines or front-row seats – adults are invited into the same space as the children, to build, play and discover together.

The SS27 Collection: Sunshine Society

Wheat’s s/s 27 collection celebrates everyday moments of childhood: movement, discovery and curiosity. Designed with Wheat’s signature balance of aesthetics and functionality, it features soft silhouettes, thoughtful detailing and bio materials designed for everyday wear.

Natural fibres and a gentle colour palette reflect the brand’s commitment to durability, long-lasting design and technical functionality. Created to support active, independent movement while maintaining comfort, the pieces are intended to be worn, shared and passed on.

As Wheat marks 25 years, the collection looks ahead as much as it looks back: reinforcing the brand’s dedication to creating clothes that support children in doing what they do best – being children.
