A young boy stood up wearing a blue baby grow by Lilly + Sid

The Lilly + Sid a/w 21 collection takes inspiration from the new way of life encountered worldwide. Working from home, exploring the local countryside and home schooling. One question in particular sparked the brand’s imagination; ‘What do the animals play when the humans aren’t watching?’

The new collection, therefore, celebrates the magic of animals and their fantasy friends. Mr Fox driving his superfast car, dancing mice twirling with the fairies, playthings made from nature’s harvest. A world where anything is possible – the only limit is your imagination.

Although special enough for smarter events, all Lilly + Sid garments are designed for play.

This includes comfort fit waistbands and cuffs, nickel-free popper fastenings and envelope and button necks. Furthermore, the brand’s heavier weight 200g jersey fabrics retain their shape well. Plus, all garments are machine washable. Linings, meanwhile, have been added to woven trousers, skirts and dungarees for both comfort and durability.

Attention to detail is key this season. Highlights include frill details, vintage lace trims and applique pockets as well as homespun embroideries. Animal characters bring the magic of dress-up into everyday wear, including bear ears, butterfly wings and cute creatures.

All colours take inspiration from nature, fitting with the brand’s GOTS organic cotton fabrics and eco-friendly dyestuffs.

Key fashion shapes this season include dungarees and ‘dungarompers’. The brand’s largest collection to date also features a variety of prints, fabrics and colours. Plus, there is the option to layer up over multi-pack essentials for cooler weather.

All-over prints are still going strong for boys, with printed sweats making a statement worn together or with coordinating separates. For girls, A-line pinafore dresses contrast with full skirts and tiering, both key fashion silhouettes for 0-8 years.

Sibling twinning for baby and older kids is available in fabrics for both boys and girls. Lilly + Sid’s design woven check takes inspiration from vintage tartan and features on dresses, shirts and dungarees as well as within appliques. Organic cord in colours influenced by nature is another option for sibling style.

Following a successful s/s 21 launch, the brand is extending its layering pieces to wear throughout the season.

Made from GOTS certified organic cotton, the separates can be mixed and matched to create unique outfits. New for this season include bodysuits in stripes and prints complete with presentation bags, making ideal baby gifts.

Furthermore, Lilly + Sid is extending its offering of separates for 0-8 years. One style and one price point simplifies the process for both stores and customers. These pieces are easy to shop and to mix back with any collection. Create unique sets or multipack offers in prints, fabrics and styles.

The collection features a new eco-conscious viscose fabric.

Printed with the brand’s Fairies design, the fabric is comfortable to wear whilst also protecting the environment. EcoVero viscose is derived from certified renewable wood sources using a responsible production process that meets high environmental standards.

Finally, the brand has also collaborated with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) charity, which provides treatment for children across the world. With charities being hit hard by the pandemic, Lilly + Sid is helping give seriously ill children a better future. Fifty per cent of profits from the brand’s GOSH gift set for both boys and girls will go to the charity.
