Mi-bambino London is a new online children’s clothing and lifestyle brand with an ethos to “keep its finger on the pulse of children’s luxury fashion, designing the best styles for children to wear”. It also uses sustainable, ethical and luxurious natural-based fibres, including 100% pure Egyptian cotton, organic cotton and bamboo lyocell.

Initially catering for 0-3 months, the ‘Love is Love Collection Luxury Baby Hampers’ and Limited-Edition Commissioned Artwork pieces from fine artist R3TIMES, provide memorable gifts for parents and newborns.

Brand founder Lauren Morrison has been in the fashion industry for 23 years and has worked across the sector; from fast fashion to luxury womenswear. She has also supported Mini Mode London Kids Fashion Week with founder Amanda Rabor; provided brand consulting for various children’s brands; and has created fashion trends for Junior Style London – Tangereene magazine.

Morrison’s strong family heritage has also significantly influenced her in fashion; namely her grandmother, a buyer and seller of clothes for less fortunate families in Jamaica; her seamstress mother; and her father, who was designing and manufacturing leather garments for men, women and children in the late 80s.

Attention to finer details together with enabling parents to repurpose everything are integral to the brand.

“We choose to use pure Egyptian cotton, bamboo and natural-based fabrics because we are concerned about our environment,” says Morrison. “We believe our products should stand the test of time. And, when garments are approaching their life cycle, they should be passed down or upcycled to recreate something else.

“We love beautiful things, and we know our customers do too. Our understanding of the industry and proprietary processes ensure the best quality. Mi-bambino London customers can trust us, as we are parents too.”

Morrison saw opportunities within childrenswear from 2012 when she started to build the foundations of Mi-bambino London.

Now based in Islington, Mi-bambino London is supported by Fashion Capital, which harnesses new local fashion entrepreneurs living within the Islington borough. The Mayor of London, Islington Council, LEAP and Fashion Capital collaborated to repurpose disused garages into affordable fashion offices called FC Designer Collective Workspace connected to FC Designer Collective Shop on Fonthill Road.

The FC Designer collective workspace offers entrepreneurs the facilities to grow their brand; providing expert advice and assistance to establish technical skills required within the fashion industry. The facilitation of an affordable workspace and shop is to bring back UK manufacturing to the forefront by creating a circular and sustainable fashion economy for British manufacturing.

Mi-bambino is currently direct to consumer but is open to the prospect of wholesaling. Click here to visit the brand’s website.
