Blue Isbjorn of Sweden coat with faux fur around the hood and using PrimaLoft insulation

For a/w 23, outdoor kids’ brand Isbjörn of Sweden has a range of padded products featuring new PrimaLoft insulation with Ocean Bound plastic. The collection is one of the first to include PrimaLoft® Insulation with Ocean Bound Plastic, which features 100% recycled content with 60% sourced from coastal areas. The three products, which are based on some of Isbjörn’s best-selling styles, will be available exclusively via Isbjörn’s website.

The products in the collection are Sealion, a version of Isbjörn’s award-winning Penguin Snowsuit in a solid colour with faux fur; Puffin, a version of Isbjörn’s Toddler Jumpsuit with a new Isbjörn signature polar bear print with faux fur; and Snowball, a version of Isbjörn’s padded Helicopter Winter Jacket, again with faux fur.

As with the original styles, these long-lasting ‘slow fashion’ garments provide children with maximum cold weather protection. Grow cuffs also enable the arms and legs to extend by up to 3cm.

Commenting is Maria Frykman, CEO of Isbjörn of Sweden

“As we strive to become fully circular by 2030 and a net zero company by 2045 at the latest, part of our journey is working closely with suppliers such as PrimaLoft to ensure our products include the most sustainable materials and manufacturing processes.

“PrimaLoft® Insulation with Ocean Bound plastic is made from post-consumer recycled material that has been specifically sourced from coastal areas, helping to stop the devastating flow of plastic waste into our precious oceans.”

PrimaLoft® Insulation with Ocean Bound plastic is certified by OceanCycle

This ensures the material’s proximity to coastlines, ethical sourcing and end-to-end traceability – all documented from collection through to manufacturing. Also commenting is Mike Joyce, president and CEO, PrimaLoft. “Our close relationship with Isbjörn spans many years. Our brands share a commitment to producing high-performing products while reducing environmental impact wherever possible.

“PrimaLoft® Ocean Bound Insulation uses recycled plastic sourced from coastal areas. We have developed a solution that meets our industry-leading performance standards and also helps to combat the issue of plastic waste in our oceans. We are excited for Isbjörn to be one of the first brands to utilize this technology, debuting in its a/w 23 collection.”
