Baby and children’s clothing brand, Pigeon, is launching its largest seasonal collection yet for a/w 21. The established Oxfordshire brand’s offering ranges from newborn to eight years and uses 100% organic cotton.

This season, Pigeon has opted for a rich autumnal palette including orange, green, teal, fig and rose. Fabrics, meanwhile, include chunky cord, velour and fleece.

Pigeon’s signature has always been its distinctive prints and this season is no exception. Expect penguins, foxes, wolves, marmots, hares and Russian dolls as well as delicate leaves. As always, each print also has a matching stripe.

Commenting on the a/w 21 collection is brand founder, Jane Shepherd. “We’ve had such fun creating this new collection – with animals on skates, foxes, wolves and penguins – the prints really make you smile.”

Key styles include reversible winter shifts and chunky lined cord trousers and dungarees. There are also dresses with smocking, piping and embroidery. Plus, new chunky cotton knit jumpers. For the outdoors, Pigeon has fleecy-lined snugglesuits, cosy hats and matching snoods.

All of the fabrics used in the collection are purely organic.

Furthermore, apart from the knitwear, they are all certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards), which monitors both environmental and social conditions right the way through the supply chain.

Shepherd continues; “We love designing and creating beautiful clothes. But we’re also excited by what we might call ‘social and environmental value added’; the things that we can do over and above the designing and selling of lovely clothes.

“For example, we have sent several dispatches of clothes to our local women’s refuge as well as several pallets to refugee camps in Greece. We’ve also supported Home-start, a national network of 13,500 volunteers working with families in times of need, and some more local charities.

“This is just one example of how we try to give back to society. We’re also halfway through our transition to compostable packaging for all of our clothes. All of the energy in our office and warehouse comes from renewable sources, too. And there’s always more to be done.

“We believe that many consumers are starting to look for more from the brands that they buy. This trend is our starting point.”
