Girl sat on a white chair wearing a white top and leggings by Rachel Riley and Smalls Merino

British baby and children’s clothing brand Rachel Riley has collaborated with Merino wool brand Smalls to create a capsule collection. The limited-edition collection combines key shapes and styles in Smalls’ core range with Rachel Riley’s signature colour palette and playful prints. The result is a blend of British design and luxury, traceable Merino wool.

The collection centres around a vintage lamb – a nod to Smalls’ New Zealand roots – and features the brand’s Italian-spun, New Zealand-grown fabric

Expect ultrafine base layer pieces including vests, long-sleeved tops, baseball T-shirts, leggings, a snood and babygros. Sizes are available for newborn to 14 years. Colours, meanwhile, include pink, blue, navy and grey. There is also a fine heart and star-shaped print in pink and blue.

Commenting on the collection is Rachel Riley, founder of the eponymous brand

“We are very excited to be working with Smalls on this collaboration. We have been fans of the brand ever since it launched and have always wanted to add a versatile base layer range to our collection. I can’t think of a better brand to partner with.

“The quality of their garments is unrivalled, and I love how durable and easy to maintain they are, which is in keeping with our own philosophy of smart, easy-to-wear pieces for babies and children.”

Also commenting are Smalls’ co-founders, Emma-Jane and Cat. “We are passionate about spreading the word about what a wonder fabric Merino wool is and are delighted to be introducing our brand to a new customer base through Rachel Riley.

“Merino wool’s natural temperature regulating properties means that it is perfect for both day and night; keeping the wearer warm when it’s cool and cool when it’s warm. Smalls’ Merino has also been proven to give wearers an extra 15 minutes of sleep a night – something which every parent will appreciate.”
