Small Stuff shortlisted for the High Street Hero Award

Eco-friendly children’s store, Small Stuff, is a finalist in the Small Awards’ nationwide search for the smallest and greatest high street firms. The Sheffield retailer is one of eight small businesses going through to the 2022 finals of the ‘High Street Hero’ category in the Small Awards, which is sponsored by TSB.

Now in its sixth year, The Small Awards is organised annually by Small Business Britain. The aim is to champion, inspire and also accelerate small businesses in the UK. This year it received a record number of applications from small businesses.

Commenting is Michelle Ovens CBE, founder of Small Business Britain. “This line-up of small firms on our Small Awards shortlist are all ’high street heroes’ in their own right, but we are looking forward to revealing the winner soon and celebrating in person once again, for the first time in two years.

“These firms all showcase the massive role that small firms play on the British high street; injecting vibrancy into town and city centres and bringing local communities together. The Small Awards is all about championing and spotlighting the UK’s phenomenal small businesses and the huge impact they have.”

Over 80 small businesses from across the country have been shortlisted for 11 categories in the Small Awards.

Also commenting is Adeel Hyder, Business Banking Director at TSB. “Congratulations to all the fantastic small businesses that have been shortlisted for this High Street Hero Award. After a challenging two years, it is wonderful to be celebrating British small businesses and seeing how many are bouncing back with renewed optimism.”

After being held online for two years due to the pandemic, the awards ceremony is returning in person. Judged by a panel of enterprise experts, the winners, together with the overall winner of Small Business of the Year, will be announced on 19 May 2022. The ceremony takes place at St John’s Church in London’s Hyde Park. Both small business owners and industry leaders will come together for an evening of inspiring speeches, entertainment, dinner and more.
