Small Stuff children's store

Eco-conscious children’s lifestyle store Small Stuff is among 25 independent retailers in the running to win the Best Small Shops 2019 competition.

Managed by the Independent Retailers Confederation (IRC), the competition celebrates the commitment and creativity of independent retailers on the UK’s high streets and the central role they play in their local area.

Entries for the Best Small Shops competition opened on the 4 July 2019 to coincide with Independent’s Day.

Independent stores around the UK then had 10 weeks to submit their entry; gaining as many consumer votes as possible. There was then an evaluation by a judging panel comprising key figures from the independent retail industry.

The top 25 shops stood out to the judges for a range of reasons. For instance, work they do for their communities and the depth of their engagement with current and potential customers.

The top 25 shortlisted retailers will now have the opportunity to attend the competition reception on 5 November at the House of Commons. There, they will meet with MPs, trade representatives and industry peers. The reception will also mark the announcement of The Best Small Shop 2019 winner.
